Round Table France is open about its traditions. Meet the 2026–2027 National Board, understand what each role actually does and discover the meaning of the collars, badges and ceremonies that can look unusual from the outside.
The National Board represents and administers the association, supports local Tables and Regions and implements collective decisions. Board roles are temporary responsibilities carried by active members.
The titles may sound formal; in practice they mean time, work and accountability to the membership.

The Round Table France Guide describes the collar as a symbol of continuity, respect and commitment. It identifies a member who has accepted a particular responsibility in service of the association, and carries the memory of those who held the role before.
Local President, Regional Board, National Board, appointed member… different ribbons indicate different responsibilities.
The handover is a reminder that no office belongs to one person forever.
The Guide stresses humility: the collar is first of all a reminder of what the wearer owes the association.
Wearing a collar does not make a member superior. It makes a temporary responsibility visible.
You can see these differences clearly in the official portraits above.
From outside Round Table, some traditional words can sound mysterious. In practice they describe ordinary association life and traditions passed from one generation of members to the next.
The regular meeting of a local Table: projects, guests, association business and time together.
The official welcome ceremony for a new member after admission. Ceremonial, yes. Secret, no.
The Round Table emblem. Its circle represents unity; the segments equality, diversity and continual renewal.
A local Table emblem exchanged during visits, carrying the identity of a city and the memory of meetings.
A chain of office passed from one role-holder to the next, making responsibility visible.
Our motto: learn from what works, adapt it to the present and keep improving.
The official Guide is explicit: Round Table is neither a secret association nor a business society. It is a movement where young men meet, act, travel, debate and build friendships.
No hidden doctrine, no spiritual authority and no secret to protect. Rules, organisation and responsibilities are part of ordinary association life.
Round Table France does not take political or religious positions. Different views are part of the conversation, not a line imposed on members.
Professional diversity is intentional. The purpose is friendship, initiative, service and personal growth, not business referrals.
The easiest way to understand Round Table is to meet a local Table, ask whatever you want and make up your own mind.
Round Table life starts locally. The national level is not “above” the Tables: it represents, coordinates and supports a network of autonomous local associations.
The heart of the movement: meetings, friendship, service projects, events and ideas rooted in a town or area.
It connects local Tables, creates opportunities to meet and carries local needs across the network.
It represents Round Table France, coordinates shared projects and supports the movement across the country.
You do not need to understand every tradition before walking through the door. A local Table can simply invite you to an evening, answer your questions and let you see the atmosphere for yourself.
